Feature Request: Project/Release Summary

It would be nice to have a generic comments field to enter information on both the project and Release (Fix For) screen.

On the project level we have been wanting a place to store the names of the servers (test/production/web/sql/etc/) and other generic information like a quick description of what that project was about, also maybe a path the source control database and the project within it. In general we just want to be able to attach random bits of information to both. A big text field would be more than adequate for our purposes.

Out of curiosity, how would you use this information?  Should it be displayed in the New Case page?  I'm just trying to figure out what the use case would be so that I can describe it to the developers.

For my purposes, being able to see it on the screen where you admin releases and projects would be sufficient, however a tooltip in various places where the FixFor value or the Project name is displayed might be nice. The main reason we would use it is for our consulting team. Unlike our products team, they track cases for dozens of separate applications in Fogbugz, most of them with a limited life span. It would be nice to be able to go back to old projects that someone might not be familiar with and see the background of exactly what the project was about, where to find the source code and/or documentation.

For releases, we also track other info separately outside the system. For example we "Grade" each release based on how cleanly and successfully the rollout went, we also track notes from the post mortem meeting. Just would be handy to have a spot to track it all in a central place instead of separate systems.

Gotcha.  I'll add it to the wishlist.
