FogBugz for Unix 5.0.19 cannot see eAccelerator

After installing FogBugz for Unix, it complains that it eAccelerator is not installed (default.php?pg=pgCheckDl).

But it is!

% php -v
PHP 5.1.2 (cli) (built: Nov  2 2006 12:29:42)
Copyright (c) 1997-2006 The PHP Group
Zend Engine v2.1.0, Copyright (c) 1998-2006 Zend Technologies
with eAccelerator v0.9.5, Copyright (c) 2004-2006 eAccelerator, by eAccelerator

I found this previous post ( http://support.fogcreek.com/default.asp?fogbugz.4.12025.0 ) describing the same problem, by Chad Whitacre, but there were no replies.

Is this a confirmed bug?

You'll want to create a test.php page and put it in the FogBugz website directory and put this in it:

<? phpinfo(); ?>

The reason is that the command line php binary is not the same binary that gets used for Apache.

Hi Michael,

Thanks for posting. I've actually tried that; it responds with:

"This program makes use of the Zend Scripting Language Engine:
Zend Engine v2.1.0, Copyright (c) 1998-2006 Zend Technologies
with eAccelerator v0.9.5, Copyright (c) 2004-2006 eAccelerator, by eAccelerator"

Furthermore, when I check the eAccelerator panel, it seems to be loaded and running as it reports caching of Fogbugz pages.

Filename      MTime      Size      Reloads      Hits
/var/www/internal/fogbugz-5.0.19/Website/CArea.php      2006-07-03 20:14      67.50 KB      1 (0)      241
/var/www/internal/fogbugz-5.0.19/Website/CAreaList.php     2006-07-03 20:14     10.46 KB     1 (0)     241
...

But the FogBugz "Check PHP Configuration" page still doesn't see it:

"Warning: FogBugz is faster with a PHP optimizer
The free, open-source PHP optimizer and cache software package eAccelerator has been shown to radically improve FogBugz page load times. You can find instructions for quick and easy download and installation of eAccelerator at  http://eaccelerator.net .  Once you install it, remember to restart Apache."

Any ideas?

I saw this once before but I don't think we could come up with a resolution.  For some reason the way we check for eAccelerator doesn't work on some systems.  I'll create a case for it...

Cool. If I can hunt down any other pieces of info for you I'd be happy to. For what it's worth, I am running Ubuntu Server 6.06.
