I am testing out FogBugz and have entered 25 cases so far.  I just noticed a note at the top of the screen that indicates we are using more than 90% of our allocated 10 MB.  This sounds outrageously large for 25 cases, most of which comprise of 1 or 2 sentences.

Is this normal?  How does disk use look for a system that has been in use for a while?

That seems a bit excessive.  Do you have any cases with a large attachment or a screenshot attached?

I just went and looked at our internal installation, and we're at about 3GB with about 100,000 cases (not counting spam and other cases that have been deleted), which is about 30kB/case.

No, we have just started with FB and none of the cases have attachments.  We have 4 users, 25 cases and nothing I can imagine taking up 9 MB of space, unless the basic infrastructure requires a large chunk of space.

Huh.  That's weird.  If you contact us at, we can arrange to increase the limit for your trial so that this doesn't affect your evaluation.

We have slightly above 1500 cases in our database, only a handful inlude images or other attachments. The entire database is 913 Mb, giving 615 kb per case in average. This is quite a lot.

Studying the database (MS SQL) closer, we find that the data files occupy 19 Mb, while the transaction log occupies 895 Mb.

Is the transaction log necessary, or can it be erased or reduced without risk?

The transaction log is used by SQL Server to do backups - I think there's an option in the backup configuration to truncate the transaction log when a successful backup has been completed.
