VS Fogbugz AddIn doesn't like being installed on a network drive

Hi there,

I tried to install the Fogbugz VS Add-in on my machine but came across a problem. My 'My documents' folder is actually a network folder (\\server\docs\dan\vs\addins) rather than one on my machine and the add-in was installed there but failed to start when I enabled it in the VS Add-in Manager. Once I had copied the add-in files to a local folder and run the add-in manager again all was well.

Could the installer check through the directories that the Add-In manager scans and install your plug-in into one that is a local folder? Failing that, could you get the add-in to work from a network drive?

Thanks, Dan

Dan,

After installing (but before copying locally) did you try shutting down and restarting Vis Studio?

Mine seemed to require a restart before the addin would work.

I assume the addin is built using .NET framework, thus making anything run from a network location will not work due to security restrictions.

If that is the case, you can get it to run by Trusting the Assembly in the Admin Tools->Microsoft .NET config
