Taking "ownership" of a bug

We have been talking about a change to FB where our large dedicated QA team can take ownership of a bug so that when it's resolved it will be returned to QA for verification and closing rather than to the team member who raised the bug.

We love the default behavior for general development, however toward the end of the project when we have 50-60 dedicated QA, most of the bugs are still being raised by the dev team, but we would rather verification be done by QA rather than the highly paid developers who are crunching to get the bugs actually fixed.

Has anybody made these changes to FB. Are there features that support this that I'm not aware of?

Right now this is not possible within FogBugz.  We are looking into the possibility of more customizable workflow in the future, but for now, it would be a two step process where the developer would have to resolve the case, and then re-assign the case (possibly to a virtual user called "QA" that would signal to the QA team that it was up for grabs).
