Search Index Progress at 0%

My search Index Progress seems to be stuck at 0%, Index size 20 bytes. It doesn't appear to have indexed anything over a period of a number of days. I've tried resetting the FB searcher, but to no effect. I'm running FB 6.0.37.

Can you run through diagnostics.asp?

The diagnostic ran successfully until it reached steps 10 and 11 (Mail Server and POP3 Server). I don't use the email feature of FB (could never get it to talk to the Gmail account I set up for it).

Any errors at the top of your FogBugz page? or in your event viewer on the FogBugz server itself?

No errors at the top of the page. No relevant messages in the event viewer.

If you create a new case, does it index that after a few minutes?

I just had another thought. My FB server does not run 24/7. It runs inside a VM on my laptop, which gets shut down at the end of each day. Is the search indexer waiting for a particular time of day to run, or does it run continuously in the background?

In answer to your last question, there's no change to the search status several minutes after entering a new case. Still zip.

Restart the maintenance service.  Also, try running register.bat in the Accessories folder.

Maybe reboot the VM?

We just upgraded our instance to 6.x as well (migrated from Access to SQL in the process) and ran into this same issue. Running register.bat solved the problem. Seems the Search tool was not registered with the correct user account during initial install (it prompted for auth when running register.bat).
