We are in the process of setting up FB4, and are having trouble making it work for us. We are an ASP business - we have software products, and we host customized versions of these products for customers. FB works great for the software products, and for email support, but appears to be very limited in project management.
What we want to do is to have cases (dev requests and bugs) assigned to a software product, and also linked to one or more projects. Reports would show the outstanding cases, and the target date for when these cases would be complete.
If FB did support the concept of Products and Projects separately, then I would want to link a case to a project, project milestone (think area), product, and area.
This seems like it would be a common problem. It appears we can sort of kludge this with one of the custom fields, though that is free-form (which is asking for trouble), and only allows a case to be linked to one project. Is this just a limitation of the product?
