Importing attachments from FogBugz 3

We imported our database form FogBugz 3.1 to 4.0 and all is well except that the attachments didn't import.

Do you have a script or program to do this? The users are not happy.

The FogBugz maintenance service should be pulling them into the new install right now - is it running?

In the meantime, the code should be looking for them in the FileUploads directory. Do you see that directory? Does FogBugz have permission to read and write it? Finally, do you see subdirectories with attachment files in them in that directory?

A service called FogBugz Maintenance Service is running.

I see the File Uploads folders and its subfolders containing the attachment files. However, the File Uploads folder is on a different server. We migrated from Version 3.1 on one server to Version 4 on another server.

Should I xcopy the folder and its subfolders to the new server?

Yes, copy that folder over.

. . . then find the registry key HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE/SOFTWARE/Fog Creek Software/FogBUGZ/(your fogbugz dir)/ixBugEventAttachmentBackfill, and set its value to 1. Then the maintenance service will start pulling the attachments into the db, and then next time you move servers, you won't have to bring over the contents FileUploads directory, because everything will be in one place!
