auto refresh setting in list view?

Our old tracking system (win 32 based) auto -refreshes every couple of minutes. So a developer who keeps it open on his 2ndary monitor sees the list changing.

With FB, I am finding that even with just two people (a dev and a qa) that they are out of sync because if the dev does not hit F5, he is not seeing the 3 new '1s' that QA just entered.

Sooooooo, is there a way to do this in FB?

Shouldn't the QA person being assigning bugs to the dev? If so, why is the dev not receiving email notifications (unless he turned them off). If you really want to add auto-refresh, you'll have to edit the source and add a meta-refresh tag.

I think there are different kinds of users:

a) Users who live in the tracking system all day

b) Users who go to the track system once in a while, and the email tickles them to do so

Here everyone is in the 'a' category. We live in the tracking system: devs, qa, etc.

So yes, the system emails us, but we are finding that there is so much email that:

a) Everyone just deletes these emails without looking at them

b) For me (who is managing the project), I use the emails as a 'velocity gauge' to see how many things are getting fixed per day. To see WHAT is getting fixed, I look in FB (of course...)

c) Even with the emails, what the email should say (to the devs and QA guys here) is: Hit F5, something new hit the system for you!

Sooooo, bottom line is that the system is GREAT with email, but is too email centric. The devs here are only supposed to check their email once or twice a day anyway, but FB almost forces them to check it more often (which hurts their productivity).

I am surprised there is no user setting or preference related to '[ ] Refresh automatically when in list view'

If you're using Firefox as your browser, you can get the ReloadEvery extension, which will automatically refresh pages every X seconds or minutes (I believe you can specify which pages it'll auto-refresh, as well).

You can find it here: https://addons.update.mozilla.org/extensions/moreinfo.php?application=firefox&version=1.0&os=Windows&id=115
