Export FogBugz Wiki?

We're looking to migrate to a more full-featured wiki solution (specifically, Mindtouch dekiwiki). Is it possible to export the data in our current FogBugz wikis?

Very good point.

When we were doing our wiki evaluation a couple years back, one of our criteria was a standard export feature to preclude wiki lock in.

(Like most, we still suffer from mountains of Word docs giving us Word lock in... We aren't going down the lock in road any mo! That content is ours <g>)

The HTML as stored in the database is easily accessible from the API.  It's a simple matter of iterating over the wikis, and over each of the articles in the wiki.

Unfortunately, that doesn't get you very far -- the same effect can be had using wget or somesuch to scrape the existing content (assuming one doesn't care about revision history).

We're struggling with this right now as well:

We provide direct, programmatic access to the data that FogBugz generates.  You can also go direct to the database for the data, and our schema is fully documented and completely open. We have no interest in keeping customers by denying them easy access to their data.  Your data is yours.

So the reality here is that the data is freely available but that you're probably going to have to write some code to get in the way you want it.

We probably should have an API script available that just outputs the wiki pages to HTML, similar to your wget, but I'm afraid with the 7 beta strongly under way, we just don't have the time to code something like this right now.

And... before anyone else points it out, Joel agrees that we should make it easier to export. So, I'll file a case, but right now it's a matter of resources.

I certainly wasn't trying to imply that there was anything nefarious going on -- sorry if it came across that way.  Things are what they are, and I certainly appreciate the API being there, but everyone always wants everything to be easier. :-)
