How to delete releases

There doesn't seem to be a delete icon next to releases, am I missing something?

Releases can be archived (basically, deleted) in the next version of FogBugz, currently under limited beta.

Can I just delete the record from the FixFor table? (Assuming no cases are actually tagged with that Release).

Basically we've created a bunch of Releases by mistake, and now we want to avoid the possibility of someone assigning a case to them by mistake.

Thanks

You can mark them as unassignable, and reuse them later if you want.
I can't answer about changing the DB directly though.

Yes, with all the usual disclaimers and admonitions about backing up your database, etc.  Deleting directly from the FixFor table should work just fine.

i suggest adding a fDISPLAY flag to indicate whether the version should display in the drop-down. in our case, we release a version almost daily and that drop-down is quite full of versions that can no longer be selected. They can't be DELETED (due to logical referential integrity constraints).

and of course, the version editing screen in settings would need to be modified to enable administrators to toggle fDisplay.

Something nearly like that is implemented in FogBugz 7, anonymous commenter.
