A forum for technical support discussion related to Fogbugz.
I am a new user testing fogbugz. I listen to the Stack Overflow podcast and like Joel enough that I figured I needed to take a look.
We use a gmail account for our software support and have been using it for some time - it has thousands of threaded messages.
I am keen to switch to FogBugz. I know I can open a new email account, forward the new messages to that, and pull these into FogBugz - but it seems to me that this route would not allow us to email within FogBugz.
If we do want to switch this main support mailbox to fogbugz, does anyone have tips to clean up the gmail inbox so that I don't create thousands of messy cases?
We use gmail as our mail server without any problems. When giving FogBugZ access, you have to "open" the POP3 interface and when you do, you can say "only e-mails received after this change".
Not sure you could do much to deal with all the e-mails you currently have unless you have a script that pulls the e-mails in and uses the FogBugZ API to open cases and then add to those cases with the threaded articles.
